Elyssa Campbell is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her PhD in Comparative Biomedical Sciences from the University of Georgia in 2024. Her lab studies host-parasite interactions across canine heartworm, lymphatic filariasis, and canine hookworm, with a focus on host specificity, immune interactions, and drug resistance. She also directs FR3, the NIH/NIAID Filariasis Research Reagent Resource Center.
She is an active member of the American Heartworm Society and a former Executive Committee member of the American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists.
